Day 79 – Plyometrics (Last Time)

Well today was my last time doing the Plyometrics DVD during this round of P90X.  This is definately the best of the workouts in my opinion.  Why?  Well first of all.. No Dreya Weber for Tony to be drooling over the entire time.  Second, what could be better than doing Jump Training with Erik “Peg-Leg” Stolhanske.   “That is a prosthetic leg, so I want no excuses from you people”   And is that a band-aid I see on that leg?  What the fuck for?  To keep the oil from leaking out?   Third reason… Dom the Leapfrog/Locust.  Whatever Tony calls him, this dude is crankin out the Plyo.  He leaps and jumps around to the point where he almost looks more like a dumbass Mexican Jumping-Bean than a training example.   Last but not least… Pam the Blam.  She simply smiles, keeps her pie hole shut, and basically kicks Plyo’s ass for 60 minutes.  Got to love the strong silent type. 

Over the course of 10 Plyometrics sessions during these past 79 days, I have jumped and hopped and sweated to each  of the following  excercises:  Oh yeah, you repeat these, so you do each one twice!!!

  • Jump Squats for 30 seconds.
  • Run Stance Squats for 30 seconds.
  • Airborne Heismans for 30 seconds.
  • Swing Kicks for 60 seconds.
  • Squat Reach Jumps for 30 seconds.
  • Run Stance Squat Switch Pick Ups.
  • Double Airborne Heismans for 30 seconds.
  • Circle Run for 60 seconds.
  • Jump Knee Tucks for 30 seconds.
  • Mary Katherine Lunges for 30 seconds.
  • Leapfrog Squats for 30 seconds.
  • Twist Combos for 60 seconds.
  • Rock Star Hops for 30 seconds.
  • Gap Jumps for 30 seconds.
  • Squat Jacks for 30 seconds.
  • Military Marches for 60 seconds.
  • Run Squat 180 Jump Switches for 30 seconds.
  • Lateral Leapfrog Squats.
  • Monster Truck Tire Jumps fro 30 seconds.
  • Hot Foot Jumps for 60 seconds.
  • Pitch & Catch for 60 seconds.
  • Jump Shots for 60 seconds.
  • Football Hero for 60 seconds.
  • So after 8 minutes of warming up, 45 minutes of that stuff, you get 6 minutes to cool down.   The first time I tried it, I made the mistake of wearing sweat pants and nearly achieved spontaneous combustion.  I remember huffing and puffing and thinking this was so hard to complete.  After 10 sessions, I can rip right through this thing (even with a swollen knee that hurts like a bastard each time I jump).   That says alot for the P90X program, what once was very hard to do, is now getting to be a little to easy.
